[ Once he finally gets back to a place with damn signal and he can read this meltdown, it....is real nice to be on this end of it. Usually he's the one bombarding people's inboxes like this. ]
hey. i'm back now
don't worry, i still remember you, superchick ❤️
hell cult islands 0/10. do not recommend visiting them
[ Well, this is awkward. Is there a way she can erase those texts from his memory? ]
did I make you think I was worried? hahaahahaaa I was just pranking you. I'm a prankster. here a prank, there a prank, everywhere a prank prank. [ Oh no, Ava, move on. ]
so what happened? did you manage to keep your friend out of trouble?
short version? you were right about it being a trap. our boat got blown up and we got trapped on a shitty island. no powers or tech. spent week one trying to survive and spent week two trying to run for our lives from that fucking cult hunting us down. don't know that i did much of anything for my friend, but we lived through it.
i'm glad you didn't go...
[ Is this....too much to say? Well fuck it. He's going to say it anyway. ]
thinking about getting back to you kept me going.
because i mean, you'd be so lost without me around to show you the ropes. 😋
are you doubting my pranking abilities? being a god doesn't exclude you from it. I'd watch your back if I was you.
I fucking knew it. what kind of cult was it?
[ Thinking about getting back to you kept me going might possibly be the sweetest thing anyone's ever said to her - until he ruins it by teasing her. ]
I'll have you know I've been perfectly fine without you. I exterminated some demon rats, met a badass witch, went to a pool party... no stress whatsoever.
[ Apart from the stress from not hearing from him, of course. ]
but I'm glad you're back so we can return to my schedule of bullying you 😊😊😊
[ God, the thought of casually introducing her to Loki breaks his brain. Loki would probably be so unimpressed and judgemental that Tech's wasting his time with a (albeit super powered) human girl. ]
what?? you think we got the sort of relationship where i start introducing you to my friends? doesn't that require at least 3 dates? 😉
i'm mostly healed, tho. i have a couple scars that are taking their time, but that's cuz they were bad. i'm not being dramatic when i say i almost died.
[ He did die...for a few minutes, actually. If he hadn't been in close proximity of the volcano, he would have. ]
anyway i think a make out sesh would probably help me feel a whole lot better 😘
it's a start. but you know us gods need LOTS of attention and devotion 😇
well since you twisted my arm, i'm in room 204 if you wanna swing by. or i could always come to you if you got quieter roommates. mine aren't too bad and SHOULDN'T bother us, but you might run into them.
I don't actually have any roommates right now so I guess it would make more sense for you to come to me so we're not interrupted?
[ Oh no, why does she suddenly feel nervous? Good nerves, but still. She's never had a guy to bring back to her room before. This is all so new to her. ]
[ No roommates? Well, that's both good and bad. Good because they won't be disturbed, but bad because he doesn't know if he'll have an excuse to keep his hands to himself. He knows, logically, he should. But when has Tech Boy ever abided by logic in the face of what he wants? ]
be there soon ❤️
[ And true to his word, Tech is prompt. She's not too far away from his room, so all he had to do was throw on a nicer shirt (something black, white and geometric) as well as comb through shaggy dirty blond locks before he heads on over -- smelling clean and freshly showered, cologne reminiscent of rainfall.
Tech makes it to Ava's door and takes a moment to draw in a breath and shake his nerves away because he has to play it cool. This is his first time meeting her when they're not dressed up for some ball that is generations away from what they're comfortable with. When he's finally ready, he knocks lightly on the door. ]
[ Ava probably should have guessed "soon" would be soon since his room isn't actually that far from hers. In the time it takes for him to arrive, she spends all of it overthinking whether she should change her outfit or tidy her room (it's not messy exactly, but her bed isn't made and she's never had the responsibility of cleaning anything before).
At Tech's knock, she has no choice but to stick to her jean shorts and pink top combo (she thinks tie-dye is cool, okay?). And once she opens the door, she has a split second to decide if she wants to treat Tech as though she saw him yesterday and pretend like she never sent those panicked texts...
Or she can follow her heart. And her heart wants to hug Tech, so she does that, stepping forward to throw her arms around him, not hugging too hard in case it worsens his injuries, but enough to get the point across that she missed him without her having to say the words. Other than Diego from home, she's never had a friend she's been away from long enough to miss.
Pulling back from the hug, she immediately spins around to hide her shy smile, stepping back into her room, expecting Tech to follow and close the door behind him. ]
I was gonna tidy up if you gave me more time. [ No she wasn't. Rooms say a lot about a person and Ava's is messy like her. ] It's like you practically ran over here...
[ She takes a seat on the edge of her bed and gets a good look at him. ] So where are your injuries? [ She might sound suspicious. He looks way too good for someone who almost died. ]
[ The hug is surprising. It wraps him in a brief, unexpected warmth. And when he goes to return it, to sink into its comfort -- she's gone, drawing back to guide the way into the room. He has no choice but to follow, sealing them in and tucking his hands in his pockets. He eyes the slight mess of her room and wrinkles his nose a little. After all, Tech is part machine and that part of him is often neat and organized. But he'll give it a pass. Being around Hazel a lot has given him a degree of tolerance toward messes. Especially when they're hot messes.
His eyes veer toward Ava after her question, and he comes to settle on the bed beside her, a respectable distance kept between them for the time being. Just because he wants to be close, doesn't necessarily mean Ava does. And Tech's so damn bad about reading cues. ]
I heal. I have a unique ability to heal from almost everything.
[ His hand extends and he allows a bit of pixelation to dance over the surface of his skin. ]
When my powers are working, anyway.
[ Tech reaches to the base of his shirt and lifts it up to show a large sunburst scar in the center of his chest. The fatal wound of an arrow that has a matching exit wound through his back only to be ripped back out again. ]
This is taking more time to heal, though. And who knows, it might be permanent. I did technically die, and dying will always leave its mark in this shithole.
[ He lowers the shirt again, sure that Ava doesn't necessarily want to stare at his scrawny pale torso. ]
I missed you, though. I thought of you in the height of the fucking chaos, when I found my programmer. I told him I'd met someone real and genuine. [ His brows draw together. ] I wish I would have fucking met you first.
[ Before Monika. Because his life continues to be a mess, but somehow Ava seems right. Seeing her again in her cute outfit, when they're not swept up in the enchantment of a twisted fairy tale evening -- he can't deny that he's into her. ]
So maybe I did run over here a little bit. But c'mon, who wouldn't be eager to see you?
[ She lifts her feet up from the bed to sit cross-legged, facing him with a look of fascination at the pixels he causes to appear over his body. Her mouth twists into a frown though when he shows her his scar, suddenly feeling bad for thinking he was lying about his wounds. She gestures for Tech to turn so she can his back as well, wincing at the sight of the second scar. ] Yikes...
[ On a more cheerful note - ] So we can both heal ourselves, we've both died and we both have scars. Talk about two peas in a fucking pod. [ She snorts before her breath suddenly catches hearing him say he missed her. She's missed him too, but she was too scared to say it. ]
You have a programmer? [ That distracts her momentarily from the part she should be focusing on - being missed by someone for once in her life - before she senses the bitterness in his voice about not meeting her before... someone? It doesn't occur to her that he could be talking about her ex and she doesn't want to pry, so she doesn't question him any further on that statement, instead offering him a more hopeful outlook on things: ]
Maybe we were meant to meet now rather than sooner. [ She shrugs, thinking it might be better for him to focus on the future rather than the past.
The last of what he says has her smiling down at her lap before meeting his gaze. ] I'm pretty sure you're the only one who feels that way. [ She settles a hand on the bed between them, like she wants to reach out and touch him but she's waiting for the right moment, or even Tech to make the first move. ]
I'm not used to having anyone. [ She confesses quietly, hating how pathetic and lonely that makes her sound. ] I had this one friend at the orphanage, Diego, but he was like a little brother to me... [ She definitely doesn't feel that way about Tech. ] I miss him, but not the way I missed you while you were gone.
[ So much for making out. Instead they're talking about feelings. ]
[ His eyes veer toward the way the already short shorts pitch up a bit to expose slightly more of her thigh when she brings her legs up onto the mattress. He swallows, adam's apple bobbing, as eyes veer away. The comparison of their scars brings a faint smile to his face. The way she makes light of it makes them sound like they had some sort of initiation to be part of an exclusive club. The cool kids club. ]
Oh yeah. The programmer is the friend I mentioned. The one I followed on the trip.
[ Tech Boy shrugs it off, not bothering to elaborate more than that. Likely she doesn't care and if she sticks around him long enough, she'll probably meet him someday. Seto Kaiba is an important part of Tech's life. Although he tends to hope Kaiba wouldn't sleep with Ava the way he had Monika. His life is just a goddamn soap opera.
His eyes drift toward her hand resting on the bed, lingering on it for a few seconds before he slowly brings his own over to rest atop hers. His touch, in spite of the general heat in the atmosphere, is actually cool. Tech is basically running his own personal AC to keep from overheating. The wonders of having powers back online. ]
Well. I'm here now.
[ He takes it upon himself to scoot closer, to bridge the gap between them a bit more. ]
I'll be here so much you'll start wishing I'd go away again.
[ He smiles, playful. And then the smile fades to something shy and uncertain. When it comes to this sort of thing, intimacy and the like, Tech is a bird on the ground -- floundering and ungraceful. So much for the cocky, confident god he was in text. ]
Is it cool if I kiss you? [ There. It's out there. No taking it back now. ]
[ She's definitely interested in hearing more about his programmer, curious to know how that relationship works, whether he has power over Tech in the sense that he can completely change him (not that she wants him to change, far from that, but it's a scary thought to her if he can).
But she decides she could just ask the programmer herself one day. It seems like a waste of this reunion to spend it talking about someone she hasn't even met yet. And who knows, Tech could be gone tomorrow, if not on another trip then from Hell altogether, and she can't have him leave again without kissing him.
She remembers the cool of his touch from the ball. It was nice then and it's even nicer now knowing where it could lead. With the gap between them getting smaller, she studies his face up close. Pale skin, light hair - he couldn't look more different to the last boy she kissed. But he knew next to nothing about her (not his fault but hers), whereas Tech knows more about her than she's told anyone, and maybe that's why her heart is beating that much faster than it ever did with JC. There's a deeper connection than just attraction here. ]
Oh, I feel that way already. [ She jokes teasingly about him going away when everything about her body language is telling him to stick around. ]
No, not cool. [ She manages to keep a straight face when she says that before bursting into a smile. ] I think it'd be kinda hot, actually.
[ She'll take that kiss from him first since he's probably too shocked from that initial no. Pulling on the front of his shirt to bring his face closer, she presses her lips to his, her free hand settling on his knee to hold herself steady. ]
[ His mouth opens and closes as his brain processes this outright rejection. Did he do something wrong? Was he reading too much into this? He thought Ava had been flirting back...but maybe he doesn't know much about this shit after all. He's about to remove his hand and pull back when Ava amends her statement. I think it'd be kinda hot, actually.
Tech Boy has no chance to give her a hard time about how lame that was or call her out on continuing to be a bully because she's suddenly against him (or is he against her?) Either way, they're close. Intoxicatingly so. He feels the warmth of her hand on his leg and slowly regains his bearings -- enough to sink into the kiss he's wanted ever since the first day they met.
It's fine this time, he tells himself. He won't fall in love. He and Ava can have something normal and uncomplicated, just two people enjoying each others company. That's what he tells himself, to a point where even a part of him believes it. But the way he kisses her speaks a different truth -- the truth of how lonely he is and how much he longs for someone who understands that loneliness. Moreover someone who can pull him out of it.
This initial kiss, new and unique to Ava, sends a tingle down his spine. He tilts his head to deepen it, his tongue seeking her lips to request entry within her mouth. It made all that suffering for two weeks seem like nothing but a distant memory. ]
[ For a split second where it looks like Tech actually believes she's rejecting him, she honestly feels bad for fooling him. But he'll soon learn that Ava has a habit of making jokes at really inappropriate moments. Humor has been her coping mechanism ever since the car accident that led to her being paralyzed. She had to rely on humor to get her through living because if she actually took a moment to take things seriously, she'd have every reason to cry about being a lonely, damaged orphan.
She's going to absolutely make it up to Tech with how she kisses him, parting her lips further at his silent request so her tongue can sweep against his. And while his skin might feel cool, everything about his mouth feels warm and inviting. Her hand soon lets go of his shirt and slides up his neck instead, threading into the hair above his nape.
The thing about Ava is she's spent years not feeling anything below her neck. Now she can - and now she can feel others - it makes her very touchy-feely around someone she feels comfortable with. This means she can't help but want to explore parts of Tech she hasn't touched before, and that desire is only going to increase the longer they kiss...
For now, touching his hair feels good, even gripping it a little in her hand because maybe he'd enjoy that? Or maybe he won't, in which case she'll never do it again. These are the things she's excited to learn about him - what makes him feel good. ]
[ Oh, he definitely appreciates her hands on him -- the tug and tease of fingers in his hair. While locked in the kiss, his hands sneak along the exposed skin of her back and he gives her a small, insistent tug closer. Onto his lap, if she's up for it.
His hands creep along her spine. Remembering quite clearly how Ava said she wanted to feel pleasure throughout her body, he decides to give her a tease of it -- with his palm laid flat on bare skin, he sends a pleasant electrical tingle through her nerves. A wave that might wash from head to toe. Pulsing, electric and alive.
Tech draws back from the kiss with a sly smile. ]
Remember that thing you said once about making every nerve in your body tingle? I can make that a fucking reality.
[ The fingers of one hand draw back to slip into her hair, easing it behind her ear -- a gesture that's fond. Given his propensity to ruin things and how his relationships in this place have gone so far, he shouldn't do this. He should be responsible and spare Ava from getting involved with him.
But this is one of those moments where logic and want are at war. Ultimately he decides fuck responsibility when his lips find the hinge of her jaw and kiss the hollow of her throat directly beneath it. ]
[ She's never actually sat in a guy's lap before, so Tech should feel honored he's the first.
She settles on top of him with ease, and if he thought her shorts were riding up earlier, they're even worse now, her mostly bare thighs straddling him. Her arms loop around his neck and she shivers as his hands travel up her braless back. His touch feels good even without him adding something extra to it, but as soon as the electrical energy runs through her, her back arches and it feels exactly like when the Halo granted her the ability to feel everything again - except a thousand times better because of the kiss that comes with it.
Gasping into his mouth, her lips are parted in an adorably confused expression as he pulls back to explain. He can do that to her whenever he wants? Make her feel that good without even being inside of her?
Fuck, he was right all along. He really is her Kryptonite.
She tries not to get too lost in that fond gesture with her hair - it's probably just a mess and he's trying to help - clutching at his shoulders while she tips her head back for him. ]
More... [ She's too turned on to even care what she's murmuring. ] Do it again. [ Electrify me. ]
[ Her wish is his command. When she requests more, his fingers trail up a bit higher on her back, beneath the hem of her shirt, to send out another rippling tingle. Ava's reactions are the reward -- the sweet parting of her lips and the faraway look in her eyes. She's beautiful in this effortless, earnest way. Tech's drawn to the honesty in her expression, and if he knew, he would be so damn honored to be the first lap she's been in.
But as it is, with her so close it's hard to hide how much he wants her. From the way he looks at her to the way his breath subtly hitches between kisses on her skin and most especially to the rising heat between his legs. His hands are on autopilot, taking the bottom of her shirt and inching it up in a silent plea for her to lift her arms so he could pull it off. Clothes are always such a hindrance. ]
The incubi and succubi want you to think you're gonna have the fucking most mind blowing experience with them, but gods are really where it's at. Just saying.
[ And he couldn't wait to show her that the tingling electricity doesn't only apply to his hands. Though he's getting ahead of himself. This might just be a make out and nothing more. And he's cool with that -- it's what Ava wants, what she's comfortable with. ]
You're not a machine, but all humans still have some electrical impulses. It's just a matter of matching my current to yours. I can, of course, give more localized stimulation.
[ Yeah, what a turn-on. Talking nerdy to her. But it's unlikely she'll even be paying his words any attention. Whether her shirt gets removed or not, one hand slips to the smooth curve of her bare thigh and he fires a pulsed sensation from where his hand rests to between her legs. A quick, flickering tease -- like striking a match in a windy tunnel. ]
[ Oh, she sees what he's trying to do with her shirt. And the only reason she hasn't taken it off yet is that she might be into the idea of keeping it on for as long as possible purely to frustrate him...
As if she isn't frustrating him enough by the way her butt sways down against him as he sends out more tingling sensations. That isn't so much as intentional as it is an instinctive response to what he's doing to her. ]
I believe you. [ She can't even criticize him for his arrogance when she doesn't think any incubi or succubi can top what he's shown he's capable of so far.
The nerdy talk she could do without, at least not while they're in the middle of... whatever this is turning into, since Ava's still not sure how far exactly she wants to go with Tech tonight (definitely more than making out, that's for sure). She's tempted to shush him with a finger against his lips or even a kiss - until suddenly she feels like she's being charged up between her legs, only for that feeling to die in an instant. ]
Fuck, that's not fair. [ He's not fair. She wriggles in his lap like she can activate whatever Tech just did herself. ] You have all these hot tricks...
[ And what does she have? Well, she has breasts. Actually, breasts are a pretty good weapon against boys. What about gods?
With no hint of warning, she climbs off Tech's lap and stands up, pulling her shirt up over her head in one smooth motion. Once her shirt meets the floor, a topless Ava rejoins the bed, this time by lying back down on it, hitched up on her elbows with a smirk.
She'll playfully ask him a question, indicating to her partial state of undress. ] Is this what the gods want?
[ Ava isn't without her tricks. The way her hips move against his, albeit involuntarily, is already enough to drive him mad. She draws back and he feels like he's coming up for air -- able to breathe temporarily until his breath hitches when her shirt disappears and she returns to the bed. His eyes roam along her skin, toward the swell of her breasts and then he averts his gaze because maan, it's not cool to sit there and stare, is it?
Breasts are no big deal considering he's the internet and they are all over every corner of the internet -- every shape and size, real and fake. He's seen more than his fair share and never really batted an eye. But it's different with Ava simply because he likes her, which brings a degree of intimacy to the encounter. Bodies don't seduce him, but personalities sure as hell do. ]
Most of them, yeah. If you look into the myths, too many fucking gods try to seduce humans or get seduced by them themselves.
[ He draws in a deep breath, willing himself to calm so he can remove his shirt as well (only fair), tossing it over the edge of the bed as he withers beside her. Fingertips trace her stomach, encircling her navel. ]
So many people are gonna be enamored by you. Calling it now. If you could get my attention, clearly you're fucking awesome.
[ His lips curve, though the smile goes a little distant. Yeah, a lot of people are gonna be enamored by her, and somehow that thought is kind of a bummer. No doubt in this group of sinners, she'd find someone who is more fascinating to her than him. It's happened once before and history tends to repeat itself.
But you know what? Fuck that thought. He rolls over so he's atop her, leaning in to crush his lips to hers and stake some silent claim -- possessive and desperate. For right now she's his and it's up to him to make this as unforgettable as possible. ]
ROFL I love it! <33
