I really don't think that I can bring myself to do anything like that...but I do. I mean, I really like him a lot. I always thought I'd wait until marriage, and there's someone from home that I've fancied, so it's a little confusing. I'd sort of resolved to simply let my home life be separate from my life here. Do you think that's wise, or am I making a mistake?

nah it's not a mistake. you do you. you're probably not gonna see the guy you like from home for a long time, if ever
unless he shows up here. but then you just deal with it when it happens. no use worrying about a "possibility" yanno? enjoy this place and the people in it because they WANT you to be miserable here so don't give them the satisfaction 😉
as far as rushing things i say do what feels natural. monika and i had the sort of relationship where we knew we were meant to be together. she told me she loved me on the second date and i knew she was gonna be the girl i was with forever ❤️
